Beibei Jiang | Portfolio Manager, Field Innovation

Beibei oversees a portfolio of grants under Growald Climate Fund’s field innovation and venture pillars, with a particular focus on work in Asia. She identifies strategic opportunities, fosters critical partnerships and incubates new areas of work through cutting edge research, ecosystem convening and innovative projects that are furthering the field.

Before joining Growald, Beibei headed a UK government flagship green finance program based at the British Embassy in Beijing, leading the UK-China green finance strategy and technical assistance projects. She worked in commercial banking in China before joining the UK Green Investment Group in its early years in the UK, after which she brought back her green financing expertise to support China’s low-carbon transition. While working at the UK think tank E3G and the Chinese International Institute of Green Finance, Beibei advised on key green finance policymaking in China and initiated the China-New Zealand green finance partnership as an economic and financial policy advisor for the New Zealand government.

Beibei earned her master’s degree in banking and international finance in London as a UK Chevening scholar. She gained cultural insights across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond facilitating diplomacy exchange and practicing sustainable tourism and practical leadership, thanks to fellowships sponsored by the Fujitsu Global Leaders program and Asia Europe Foundation. Beibei loves hiking and meditating in nature, enjoys Chinese painting and calligraphy, and is a certified scuba diver.
