Our Focus

We must act quickly to avoid the worst impacts of climate change and we must act boldly, investing our resources for maximum impact.
We believe that philanthropy plays a key role in nurturing new climate solutions, supporting a vibrant civil society, and promoting objective research and analysis for use by governments and key NGO and foundation partners. This support, together with work done by governments and businesses, can help to create the meaningful transformation that is needed for the climate and environment. If these ideas fail, philanthropy has the ability to absorb that loss. But if they succeed, they can mainstream and create systemic shifts and material impact on the issues we care about. In these most trying of times, we must try new approaches as history unfolds around us.
We identify concrete pathways to impact climate change and invest in the strongest levers for change.
Energy Policy & Diplomacy
We support diplomatic efforts and government to government diplomatic engagement to build momentum in the transition to clean energy in key countries and states.
Financial Flows
We support efforts to conduct financial analysis highlighting the risks of fossil fuels and opportunities of clean energy and to spur the market to shift financial policies and investments to be in line with climate reality.
National Campaigns
Change happens on the ground, and we support efforts in key countries to transition to clean energy.
Pollution
The same fuels that contribute to climate change also pollute our air and water. We look for opportunities to support a shift to healthy energy choices that reduce pollution and improve health and ecosystems, while also protecting the climate.
We believe that our strategic areas of focus are the strongest levers for climate action. We invest in these pathways through several pillars of our work: Collective Impact, Venture Philanthropy, and Field Innovation.
