Paul Growald | Co-Founder & Vice President
Paul Growald is a social and business entrepreneur and philanthropist whose passion is catalyzing constructive change through seeing and scaling opportunities to help repair the world. Prior to co-founding the Growald Climate Fund, Paul was founding director of what is now Second Harvest of Silicon Valley in California, long-time trustee and board chair of the California League of Conservation Voters, Governor Brown’s appointed Public Member of the California State Board of Food and Agriculture. He also founded the pioneering Pollinator Partnership and its North American Pollinator Protection Campaign. Paul also worked as a special correspondent to the Washington Post and was the general managing partner of Small Cities Cable Television in Vermont.
Most recently, Paul created the Engagement Arts Fund and its Stopping Stones initiative as a vehicle for racial healing and repair. Partnering with local sponsors, its memorials honor individuals enslaved in early America.
Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Northwestern University and a master’s in urban studies and public policy from Occidental College. He is a beekeeper, amateur entomologist, avid bird watcher, and fly fisherman. He lives with his wife Eileen on a small organic farm in Vermont.
